United’s P.S. – Premium Service. In the past year, United replaced its aging 3-cabin B767-200 fleet that had been the backbone of the SFO/LAX-JFK service. Because of various corporate travel contracts in place, along with stiff competition from American, United had to maintain a 3-cabin service but did not have available widebody aircraft to pull from their international fleet. So they created a sub-fleet of B757-222s that instead of the usual 24 F / 158 Y seating mix has 12 F / 26 C / 72 Y+.

Comfort Tops. In Pearl Zone (J class), an innovative configuration and comfortable flat bed can't be beat. In Diamond Zone, a nothing special F class seat is nevertheless also comfy.

Air Canada ERJ-190 cabin interior

My first impression of the ERJ-190 was that it looked advanced and the cabin was clean. There was ample headroom and the seats seemed to be wide. Headroom is always a major issue on RJ’s. My other brother always takes aisle seats on the CRJ as there is no legroom on the window seats. In fact, the CRJ also has the 2-2 configuration but the ERJ’s cabin is wider, so it feels much more spacious. Each seat has its own personal TV with AVOD. The cabin was feeling like a sauna. They really heated it too much. They were already cooling it down to normal cabin temps by the time we got on.

Air France Boeing 777 Tempo cabin

AF’s new 3-4-3 configuration was like. The seats themselves looked comfortable; however, the aisles and armrests seemed very narrow. I believe TAAG Angola and KLM have the exact same seats and configuration on their 777’s

Air France 777 300er business class cabin

I could really feel a difference between this 77W and the A332 I flew yesterday. The cabin feels much more open and wide on the 77W

Affaires seat in full recline. I believe that newer 77W’s have a different and better version of this seat.
